The meeting was also attended by the board members of the foundation including Filippo Grandi, High Commissioner of UNHCR, Zaiqing Yu, IOC Vice-President, Dr Chungwon Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation and Yiech Pur Biel, member of the first Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

The meeting discussed the sport for protection projects to be implemented in communities and camps affected by the refugee crisis across the world. Meanwhile, Sheikh Joaan also met with Neven Ilic Alvarez, President of the Pan American Sports Organisation on the sidelines of the Youth Olympic Games.
The meeting reviewed the areas of cooperation between the two organisations and the means of developing them in the future.
