Indian Sports Centre (ISC), an apex body of Indian Embassy, has organised a felicitation function in the honour of Indian National Volleyball team that visited Doha to play preparatory matches for 20th Senior Men Asian Volleyball Championship.
Those matches were played with Qatar, China and Australia from 2 to 7 September at Qatar Volleyball Association Stadium, Doha.
Nilangshu Dey, President of Indian Sports Centre welcomed the Indian national Volleyball team and highlighted about the role of the Indian Sports Centre in promoting sports and games among the Indian community in Qatar as well as associating with Games Federations of Qatar in organising various international sports events in Qatar.
Ramavatar Singh Jhakar, Secretary General of Volleyball Federation of India applauded the Ambassador of India to Qatar P Kumaran for his support in forming the Indian Sports Centre which is the need of the day in view of Qatar being an International hub in sports and games.
Head coach Dragan emphasized the progress of Indian National team during last three months which should definitely reflect in their world ranking in the forthcoming Asian Championship.
Ambassador P Kumaran expressed about the great opportunity for the Indian community of Qatar to meet with the Indian volleyball team as done in past in felicitating Indian national team in athletics, football, billiard.
The Felicitation plaque was given by Indian Ambassador to Secretary General of Volleyball federation of India .
The mementoes were given by Indian Ambassador to the team players as Ukkrapandian , Ranjit Singh , Ajithlal. Naveen Raja . Jacob. Prabagaran , Amit , Ashwal Rai , Manoj , Akhin , Jerome Vinith , Pankaj ,Kamlesh And Vinit Kumar and officials as Dragan - Head coach , Naresh Kumar - Asstt Coach , Sridhar - Asstt coach , Digvijay Singh - Physiotherapist and Ognjen Markocic, - Analyzer .
The Program was compered by Habib un Nabi , General Secretary and Vote of thanks by Ashik Mohammed , Secretary Volleyball & Basketball .
