Doha: Ambassador of Iraq to Qatar, H E Omar Ahmed Al Barzanji, has described the Qatari-Iraqi relations as distinguished and solid, and extend to fraternal cooperation, common history and social links that unite the two countries and peoples.
In a statement to QNA on the occasion of the National Day, the Ambassador affirmed that Iraqis are working with Qataris to strengthen and develop these relations and advance them into broader areas. He expressed his happiness at the visit of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Iraq and his participation in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and
Partnership, especially since this visit indicates the links between the two fraternal countries, and that they have more areas of cooperation in the coming days.
The Iraqi Ambassador pointed out that there are many roles played by the State of Qatar at the international level, which were successful in recent years, indicating its readiness to organize the most prominent event in the world, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Ambassador added that their eyes are heading towards Qatar to keep pace with this success, pointing out that the whole world is heading towards Qatar. He expressed his confidence that Qatar will organize a distinguished tournament that will be unique and combine Arab authenticity and modernity.
The Iraqi Ambassador congratulated H H the Amir and the government and people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of the country’s National Day.
He also conveyed the congratulations of the government and people of the Republic of Iraq and their wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people of Qatar.
