Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Endowments at Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced the registration of a new investment endowment established by a female benefactor.

The endowment consists of 994,070 shares held in ten companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange and registered through the Qatar Central Securities Depository, under the supervision of the General Directorate of Endowments.

According to the donor’s conditions, the endowment’s annual returns will be distributed equally among the six approved endowment funds, with each receiving 15 percent of the proceeds. These include the Endowment Fund for Righteousness and Piety, the Endowment Fund for Serving the Qur’an and Sunnah, the Endowment Fund for Mosque Services, the Endowment Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development, the Endowment Fund for Family and Childhood Care, and the Endowment Fund for Healthcare.

An additional 10 percent of the returns will be allocated to the “Waqf of Endowments” initiative affiliated with the Endowment Fund for Righteousness and Piety.
The new endowment reflects a comprehensive philanthropic vision aimed at supporting a broad range of charitable and developmental sectors. By directing revenues to multiple endowment funds, the initiative enhances cooperation among the various Awqaf programmes while maximising the social and developmental impact of investment-generated returns.
