Doha: Barwa Cricket Club (BCC), a cricket academy based in Doha, is scheduled to tour Gen-Next Cricket Academy in Chennai, India from August 10 to 20, officials of the academy informed.
Some of the exciting under-12 and under-15 talents from Qatar training at the academy will be part of the 10-day boot camp in Chennai, at the Gen-Next Cricket Academy a professional cricket coaching center.
The tour includes five 30-over matches on turf wickets, high performance coaching sessions and fitness sessions. India’s bowling icon MRavichandran Ashwin is Gen-Next’s Brand Ambassador and the Chief Mentor. The institute prides itself in producing high quality cricketers.
All the activities will be monitored and reviewed by R. Ashwin.
“The camp is designed to benefit children develop their cricket skills and give them an all-round exposure facing teams on a new turf. This will be a wonderful learning opportunity and an excellent platform for them to sharpen their skills as better cricketers. This trip hopefully will help the young talents to develop their game and it argues well for Qatar cricket and development of cricket in Qatar,” said Christopher, an official of BCC.
BCC started functioning from June 2017 and is recognized by and registered with the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA).
“The Club’s strength is in developing young cricketers through the highest standard of coaching and personal development programs.
“BCC nurtures and empowers children to reach their full potential through individual one on one sessions, video analysis, systematic physical training program, practicing with bowling machine and regular match practice,” he added.
