MOFA, Jordan to clash in Aspire Embassies Futsal final

DOHA: Jordanian Embassy in Qatar and Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will clash in the final of the Aspire Embassies Futsal Tournament 2018 on Friday.

The final will kick off at 8.00pm at the Ladies Sports Hall in Aspire Zone.

The MOFA team beat Aspire Zone 11-6 at the quarter-finals last week, going on to defeat Sudan 6-4 in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, their opponents, Jordan, advanced after overcoming a tough match against Kenya in the quarter-finals which ended in a score of 9-8, and beating Syria’s team in the semi-finals 6-0.

Teams representing Syria and Sudan, who lost during the semi-finals will also play against each other, where one of them will get a chance to win third place. The game is due to be played on the same day prior to the final, at 6.30pm at the same venue.

The tournament is in line with AZF’s efforts to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages. Football fans are welcome to attend the tournament and cheer on their favourite teams.

This year, the tournament featured 16 teams representing: Algeria, Djibouti, Ethiopia, France, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sudan, Syria and the United Kingdom, as well as a team from MOFA representing Qatar and Aspire Zone team.
