Doha: The Qatar Football Association announced that the final of the 49th Amir Cup scheduled for May 14 would be held without fans.

The decision in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) follows the earlier statement by the local organising committee, which initially announced that fans could attend the final game while adhering to strict precautionary protocol.

The decision to hold the game without fans came as part of efforts to ensure everyone’s safety, in line with the restrictions and preventive measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), based on coordination with the MoPH. The highly anticipated game is set to be played at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium.
