Doha: The MENA region’s leading mixed-use business incubator, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) has announced that registration for the third wave of the Lean Manufacturing Program (LMP) is now open, and will run until May 20, 2021. Registration via QBIC’s official website is available at https://www.qbic.qa/lean-manufacturing-program/

The first program of its kind in Qatar, LMP is designed to take emerging local manufacturing capabilities to the next level as participants are trained and coached on developing their ideas by leveraging the expertise of local and international specialists and partners. As part of the program, entrepreneurs also gain a thorough, hands-on understanding of the holistic manufacturing process through a series of practical sessions that are based on the lean methodology.

Towards concluding the project, participants will be able to present their achievements to a specialized committee and potentially gain access to dedicated workshop space, on-going coaching, and office space. Project owners will then be able to harness QBIC’s support and utilize the “Jahiz” factory platform to grow their business ventures and transform their projects from a winning idea to a fully operational stand-alone factory.

Commenting on the occasion, Executive Director of Advisory and Incubation at QDB, Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al Mannai said: “Following the success of the first and second waves of the Lean Manufacturing Program, we return this year for the third wave to honor our continued commitment to supporting entrepreneurs first, and Qatar at large, towards developing emerging manufacturing projects and empowering ambitious business owners who aspire to grow and expand.”

All participants in the LMP embark on a six-week developmental journey, during which they learn the most important aspects of operating factories and developing products.
