Cairo: Rashid Saleh Al Athba and Reem Al Sharshani yesterday clinched the gold medal in the mixed skeet competition, Qatar's fourth medal in the Arab shooting Championship, which is in progress in Cairo, Egypt.
Al Athba said that winning gold was not easy, but he and Sharshani were determined to win the event despite fierce competition and now they will return to Doha to prepare for the upcoming tournaments.
Al Sharshani, who had won the individual gold in the Skeet on Friday, said that the presence Al Athba helped her compete with confidence to achieve her outstanding double.
"I am always happy to be among the elite athletes on the podiums, God willing I will continue to do my best to bring more honour to Qatar," Al Sharshani said.
