Seasoned drivers will be up against a host of in-form rivals during the Qatar Online Racing Championship (QORC) WRC8 which flags off today. Organised by the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), the series is the third edition of the online racing competitions conducted by the motorsports governing body, following successful completion of online MotoGP and Touring Car events.
Among the drivers who will be switching to actual rally driving to playstation controllers during the Online WRC series will be champion rally driver Adel Abdulla, QORC Touring Car Championship winner Ahmed El Kholay and the multiple-time Qatar Superstock600 champion and former Moto2 rider Saeed Al Sulaiti. Al Sulaiti will be aiming for his second QORC title following his victory in the QORC MotoGP series.
The final line-up of ‘drivers’ consist of a total of 27 gamers, including two from Oman as well as three competitors from Kuwait.
The championship competitions will take place over two weeks, as the first week includes the qualifying stage, which includes three races that take place on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, during which competitors compete on the “WRC” car through three or four groups with seven competitors in each group, according to the final number of registrants.
