DOHA: Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), the country’s governing sports body, will organise the ‘Sport Excellence Day 2013’ event at Katara on May 21.
The annual sports gala will be organised to honour the best athletes, sport officials, institutions and government and non-government organisations for their contribution in boosting the sport movement during the season 2012-2013.
Senior QOC officials, heads of sport clubs, federations and honourees will come together to celebrate the roles played by members of the community, QOC said yesterday.
QOC, in coordination with the Qatar Sport Press Committee (QSPC), will announce the winning names later this week.
Awards will be given in the following titles:
Appreciation Award for the personalities who delivered significant services to Qatar sport movement, sport best sponsor award (government bodies), sport best sponsor award (companies), golden club award (General Excellence Shield), ideal club award, appreciation award for best national company involved in sport projects in the country, golden federation award, ideal federation award, sport creativity award and the best school award (Schools Olympic Program).
A total of seven schools (secondary, preparatory, primary and model (boys and girls) are included in the list.
