Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health, MoPH, renewed its call for residents to adopt healthier habits as the world marks World Health Day.

In a social media post, the ministry noted that reducing the consumption of foods and beverages high in sugar, salt and unhealthy fats would help prevent disease and improve overall quality of life.

It also encouraged individuals to quit tobacco use as part of broader public health efforts.

Residents were advised to maintain adequate hydration, recommending between 8 to 12 cups of water daily for adults and senior citizens, and 6 to 8 cups for children.

The ministry stressed the need for regular physical activity, limiting prolonged periods of inactivity, alongside ensuring sufficient sleep of seven to nine hours per night.

Emphasising mental well-being, it called for effective stress management through exercise, relaxation, proper rest and maintaining supportive social connections.
