Al Arabi, Al Duhail to meet in Amir Cup final

Doha: Al Arabi and Al Duhail advance to the final of the Amir’s Handball Cup after beating Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah respectively, in the semi-finals yesterday.

In the first match, defending champions Al Arabi beat Al Rayyan with a final score of 31-25 after leading 13-9 at half time at Al Duhail Indoor Arena.

Al Duhail joined Al Arabi in the final after defeating Al Wakrah 27-21 in the second semi-final. 

Al Duhail had gained a decent 15-10 at the end of the first half, and managed to maintain supremacy despite a strong reply from Al Wakrah at the beginning of the second half.

The final will be held tomorrow.

It is noteworthy that Al Sadd hold the record for most number of titles (8). Al Ahli have won the title five times while Al Rayyan and Al Jaish have emerged champions four times each. Al Duhail and Al Arabi won twice, and Al Wakrah once.
