Jakarta: A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Seram on Sunday.
The Indonesian Geophysics Agency stated that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 km off the coast of North Sulawesi Province, with no reports of human or material damage.
Indonesia experiences frequent seismic and volcanic activity due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire. In January 2021, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake claimed the lives of over 100 people in the country.
