Doha: Al Duhail's latest signing, former Juventus and Atletico Madrid star Mario Mandzukic yesterday said that his aim is to help his side in winning titles.

The 33-year old Croatian joined the Qatari club following a long journey in Europe where he has also served top tier clubs including Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.

The charismatic forward, who was welcomed by Al Duhail management, vowed to give all-out efforts during his stint with the Red Knights.

Mandzukick, who was welcomed by the club management in a special ceremony, expressed his delight to join the club.

"I am preparing for the beginning of a new journey in the world of football with one of the biggest clubs in Asia, and certainly I will work hard with my new team-mates to help the club in achieving all its goals," Mandzukic who has scored 33 goals for Croatia, including one in the 2018 FIFA World Cup final against France, said yesterday.

He hoped to play significant role in achieving victories for his new club, which is currently leading the QNB Stars League.

"At every club which I serve, I work hard to make the club fans happy and go for title wins. Now I'm in a club that has won many championships and so far this principle has not changed. It will not be easy, and if we show the seriousness of work and desire, then certainly we will succeed in winning tournaments," Mandzukic said.
