Following its mission to support startups and entrepreneurs across various sectors in Qatar, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), a division of Qatar Development Bank (QDB), announced yesterday that it has started accepting applications for the second wave of the Lean Coach Program from May 31.

Aspiring coaches are expected to complete a set of technical and practical core components through virtual training sessions, which will be delivered over a five-week period, followed by online training sessions for startups.

In addition, there will be practical, face-to-face sessions which will be held at the QBIC premises towards the end of the year. Upon completion of the program, potential coaches will earn a QBIC ‘Lean Coach’ certification.

They will also earn a one-year paid contract by regularly coaching at least two QBIC start-ups. The Lean Coach Program contributes to the development of a new generation of coaches who can guide the next success stories in the country.

To qualify for this programme, applicants must be Qatari or residents of the State of Qatar, have at least 7 years of work experience within any field of business or academia, possess in-depth knowledge of the commercial and technical aspect of business, and be versed in the Qatari market as well as international markets. They should also be committed to regularly helping local QBIC entrepreneurs.

QBIC’s Lean Coach Program, the first of its kind in Qatar , is specifically designed to develop the next generation of certified start-up coaches and equip them with the skills necessary to help transform promising startups into successful business ventures.
