Doha: New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS) trainee Faiz Ahmed Anas finished runners-up in the Under-15 doubles while clinching the third place in the Under-15 singles at the Kerala district level championship last week.
In the Idikki District championship, the 13-year-old Faiz, who started training a year back with NVBS, beat Mohammed Yaseen in the quarter-finals in a three-set encounter 21-13, 17-21, 21-18.
In the doubles section, Faiz and Balasurya went down fighting in the Under- 15 doubles category to lost to Stalin and Hari 13-21,21-14,16-21.
Faiz has made remarkable strides since he joined the badminton training says coaches at NVBS and he has achieved this through dedication and perseverance by coming for training regularly.
At NVBS he trains under coach Manoj Sahibjan.
“Faiz started his training, at the start of last year, and has managed to bring a drastic change in his performance. He is an upcoming player who has captured the attention of the audience in all the tournaments he has played in a short period,” said coach Sahibjan.
