Doha:  Ooredoo emerged as the winner of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Corporate Challenge at the Qatar Cyclists organised, Ooredoo Ride of Champions.

Ooredoo narrowly beat Mannai Corporation to take victory in the inaugural QSE Corporate Challenge that aims to inspire QSE listed companies to encourage their employees to practice sports and lead healthy lifestyles.

The Ooredoo Ride of Champions is the biggest cycling mass-participation event in Qatar and the pinnacle of the community events organized by Qatar Cyclists, and saw more than 1500 cyclists of all ages and experience levels take part in this year’s event hosted by Qatar Foundation on March 15.

The Corporate Challenge consisted of two categories in its first edition, both which saw Ooredoo take victory. The QSE Corporate Challenge Health Champion Award was won by Ooredoo who narrowly beat Mannai Corporation. The award which aims to encourage companies to get the most members of its staff and their families to participate in the event at any distance, whether it be kids, family ride (on closed roads in QF), or open road short (48km), medium (78km) and long (137.5km) events saw Ooredoo take victory with four more than Mannai Corporation.

The QSE Corporate Challenge Speed Champions Award is presented to the company who’s got the fastest adult team. The results of which were calculated by determining the QSE-listed company with the fastest average speed for its 4 fastest riders over any of the open road distances (48km), medium (78km) and long (137.5km) events. Again this was won by Ooredoo with a team average of 27.87km per hour closely followed by Mannai Corporation with a team average speed of 23.72.
