Saleh Al Kaabi
Doha: Qatar’s Saleh Al Kaabi has qualified to participate in the PIF Saudi International Golf Championship, which is starting in Jeddah tomorrow.
Top-ranked golfers from around the world are participating in the event.
Al Kaabi qualified for the tournament after he came in second place in the qualifiers held in Abu Dhabi.
Qatari national team player Ali Al Shahrani also participated in the qualifiers, but he failed to get the qualifying berth. Al Kaabi had finished third in the Qatar Open Amateur Golf Championship for the 2021/2022 season, which concluded on January 22. Denmark’s Mikkel Mathiesen won the event.
The Saudi International is making its debut on the Asian Tour.
The biggest names competing includes Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau. Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Tommy Fleetwood, Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, Cameron Smith and Abraham Ancer.
As many as 21 of the world’s top 50 players will tee it up at Royal Greens Golf and Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia.
