The State of Qatar has taken comprehensive steps to reassure residents and businesses about safety, market stability, and continuity of services in light of recent regional developments.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) reiterated that goods and products remain available in sufficient quantities across retail outlets nationwide, ensuring consumer needs are met regularly and market stability is maintained. The ministry urged the public to shop according to actual need and to adhere to official guidelines promoting responsible consumption. The MoCI also confirmed that 33 retail branches across all regions have transitioned to 24-hour operations to provide uninterrupted access to essential goods and services, underscoring that supply chains continue to function normally.
Field inspection teams have intensified rounds at markets and stores to monitor supply conditions, verify price compliance, and detect any violations, with legal action taken where necessary. Coordination with major retail partners has been central to these efforts, reflecting the government’s commitment to preserving market balance and consumer confidence.
To further support public safety and continuity, the Ministry of Labour, in coordination with MoCI, have extended remote working arrangements, where possible, for private-sector organisations. Businesses whose operations require staff on-site remain exempt, provided all approved health and safety measures are strictly observed. Remote work for government employees was also extended.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense confirmed that Qatar Armed Forces successfully intercepted incoming drones and cruise missiles launched towards the country’s airspace. The Ministry confirmed that the interception operations were conducted within an integrated air defence system with full readiness of the Armed Forces, without any human casualties. Officials emphasised that Qatar continues to take all necessary measures to protect its land and airspace, reinforcing national security while maintaining public confidence.
