Doha, Qatar: The Youth Committee of Al Arabi Sports Club, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, organised a public awareness lecture titled “Avoiding Gloating” as part of its 2026 summer activities aimed at strengthening moral values and promoting positive behaviour among young people.
Held under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the lecture was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf’s Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance. The event took place at the club’s main events hall on Wednesday and attracted a large audience of participants in the club’s summer programme, youth members, and visitors interested in cultural and religious activities.
The lecture was delivered by Sheikh Mohammed Ghanem, a preacher assigned by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance. He addressed the dangers of harmful speech and highlighted the negative impact of gloating, verbal abuse, and name-calling on individuals and society from an Islamic perspective.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed that such behaviours weaken social cohesion and spread division and resentment within communities. He urged participants to uphold noble Islamic morals by refraining from mocking others, verbal bullying, and offensive language, emphasising that respectful conduct is essential for maintaining strong family and community ties.
