Doha, Qatar: Turkish companies have become reliable partners in Qatar’s development projects, while Qatari investors contribute to growth and job creation in Türkiye, said Ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar H E Dr. Mustafa Göksu.

“Thanks to the wise leadership of H E President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, this brotherhood has evolved into a model strategic partnership. In recent years, relations between Türkiye and Qatar have developed rapidly, reaching an exemplary level of regional and international cooperation,” he said, while addressing a reception yesterday on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.

The reception was attended by Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Samikh Al Marri, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H E Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al-Muraikhi, Minister of State and President of the Qatar National Library H E Dr. Hamad Al-Kawari, and a number of ambassadors and other distinguished guests.

Talking about Qatar-Turkiye ties, the Ambassador said to date, more than 120 agreements and memoranda of understanding have been signed between the two countries, covering all areas of life. “Our economic cooperation has extended beyond our borders, encompassing joint projects in various parts of the world — spreading prosperity to other regions as well.

“Türkiye and Qatar have always stood by each other in difficult times. In this regard, I reaffirm that Türkiye — as in the past — will continue today and in the future to stand by our sisterly State of Qatar, supporting its sovereignty and security with all our capabilities in the face of any threat or aggression.”

He lauded efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in reaching the recent Gaza ceasefire agreement. “Türkiye has been one of the driving forces in this process — through its active foreign policy, principled stance, and diplomatic experience.

"These efforts have contributed to delivering humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of innocent civilians, once again proving that collective international action can indeed change the course of humanitarian crises.”

He said that Türkiye and Qatar both firmly believe that a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue can only be achieved through the two-state solution, by establishing an independent and sovereign State of Palestine. “We reaffirm our determination to continue coordination and cooperation with our brothers in Qatar and with all parties concerned to achieve this goal.”

He added, “Today, Türkiye — with its rich history, robust institutions, strategic geographic location, qualified human resources, dynamic economy, and active diplomacy — stands as a responsible actor in its region and beyond, working for peace, justice, and stability.”

“Alongside their unwavering support for Palestine, Türkiye and Qatar continue to engage jointly in multiple international issues — including Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia, and Sudan — guided by a shared vision that promotes peace, stability, justice, and prosperity.”

He said that in the devastating war between Ukraine and Russia, Türkiye and Qatar are making significant diplomatic efforts to facilitate the exchange of prisoners and remains, and to encourage peace negotiations.
