Colombia quake death toll rises to 321

Bogota: The death toll from the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia on August 10 has risen to 321, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) said Friday.

The quake has also left 4,595 people injured and 257 missing, while 364 people have been rescued, the agency said in an update posted on X.

According to the UNGRD, the disaster has affected 476 municipalities in 15 departments, impacting 284,185 people and 1,236 animals.

The agency reported 467 collapsed buildings, as well as 163,884 homes damaged and 31,445 others destroyed. It also said 4,611 community centers, 3,579 educational centers, 351 health centers, 435 roads, 111 aqueducts, 69 vehicle bridges, 14 pedestrian bridges, and five airports were affected.
