Miami--Two-time champion Andy Murray won his 499th career match on Sunday, posting a 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Santiago Giraldo to reach the fourth round of the Miami Masters.
The Scot, who won the title in 2009 and 2013, would become the ninth active player to reach 500 victories if he wins his next round.
It took him five match points over two games to claim the win, his third in four meetings with Giraldo.
He next faces South African 15th seed Kevin Anderson, who beat Argentine Leonardo Mayer in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
