Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait issue early morning warnings; Qatar later declares all clear

Doha, Qatar: Authorities in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait issued warnings in the early hours of Thursday, July 9, 2026. 

In an alert sent to mobile phones at around 4am, authorities urged people to stay indoors, away from glass windows and avoid going outside. This was followed by a second message informing that the danger had passed and that people could resume their normal activities. 

A similar alert was issued in Bahrain. 

In Kuwait, the Defence Ministry reported that the country's air defence systems was responding to hostile drones and missiles. It added that explosion sounds heard were the result of air defence systems intercepting the incoming attacks. 

It further advised people to follow safety instructions issued by the authorities.
