DOHA: Qatar participated in the 105th meeting of the GCC Economic and Financial Cooperation Committee which took place in Riyadh yesterday.
Qatar also participated in the joint meeting of the GCC Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors with the Director General of the International Monetary Fund.
The meeting, in which Minister of Finance H E Ali Sherif Al Emadi participated, discussed a number of research papers on finance and economic policies in the GCC.
The first research paper focused on future steps that need to be taken to diversify the revenue streams of GCC governments away from oil. The second paper focused on the economic challenges facing the GCC member countries and necessary required structural reforms including expanding the private sector.
