DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) announced the closure of a beauty centre in New Salata for one month over displaying and using various expired products.
Inspectors fined the beauty centre and ordered its closure for one month in accordance with Article No. (7) of Law No. 8 of 2008, which states that “suppliers of goods must clearly display on product’s labels and packaging a clear description of the type of the product and its ingredient. It is prohibited to describe, advertise or display any product that contains any misleading or false statements.”
The closure came as part of the ongoing intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry’s inspectors to monitor and control the local market and commercial activities in order to crack down on price manipulation and expose violations pertaining to counterfeit goods and non-conformance with standards and specifications.
