Doha: The country is expected to be affected again by fresh to strong northwesterly winds from Monday until Thursday due to the extension of Indian Monsoon trough along with a ridge of high pressure over northern Arabian Peninsula.
Wind speeds are expected to strengthen gradually reaching its peak on Tuesday and Wednesday ranging between 18 to 28 knots with wind gusts reaching 35 knots at times blowing dust and causing poor visibility of 2 km or less in some areas.
In addition, sea warnings will be in effect for strong wind and high waves (6 to 10 Feet) starting from Sunday night. Maximum temperatures are expected to rise to mid-40 in the next two days (Sunday and Monday).
However, maximum temperatures are forecast to drop to upper 30s over most areas due to northerly winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Qatar Meteorological Department urged everyone to be cautious and to avoid sea activities during strong wind as well as to follow latest weather updates through the official website, smart phone applications and social media accounts.
