Damascus: The World Bank has approved $225 million in grant financing through the International Development Association to support water and health projects in Syria, strengthening basic services and improving living conditions.
The funding is split between a $150 million project to rehabilitate the water sector, focusing on repairing water supply and sewage networks, and a $75 million project to support the health sector by improving access to healthcare and enhancing the efficiency of services provided.
Around 4.5 million people were expected to benefit from these projects, which fall as part of efforts to support early recovery and promote stability, contributing to improved vital services and supporting the return of displaced persons.
