Davos: The Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO) HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani held a series of strategic meetings with global media, technology, and investment leaders, as a member of Qatar's delegation to the World Economic Forum 2026, held in Davos, Switzerland.

These meetings enhance the State of Qatar's role in international economic forums and expand strategic partnerships with leading global institutions, advancing its vision across media, innovation, and the digital economy, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani said: "Qatar's participation in the World Economic Forum aims to strengthen dialogue with global partners on the future of the global economy and explore collaboration opportunities across media, technology, and innovation to build sustainable partnerships, in line with the Third National Development Strategy."

His Excellency noted that trusted media and content creation, together with the digital economy and advanced technologies, are essential to economic growth and social trust, calling for deeper cooperation with global media and technology leaders to share expertise, develop talent, and support sustainable growth.

HE the GCO Director met with CEO of Dow Jones Almar Latour, Publisher of The Wall Street Journal, as part of broader efforts to strengthen ties with influential global media and economic stakeholders.

The meeting addressed opportunities to advance the strategic partnership, including Dow Jones' plans to establish an office in Qatar, reflecting mutual confidence and reinforcing the country's role as a regional media hub.

The partnership with Dow Jones has enabled the exchange of media expertise, economic and analytical content development, and collaboration on hosting high-level global events, including The Wall Street Journal Tech Live, held in Qatar in December for the first time outside the United States. The event reinforced Qatar's standing as a global platform for dialogue on emerging technologies, the digital economy, and media.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani also held meetings with senior leaders from iHeartMedia, the world's largest podcast publisher, including Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group, and Andy Kelly, EVP of Global Brand Partnerships.

The meeting was held alongside iHeartMedia's active participation in several panel discussions at the Invest Qatar pavilion, showcasing the rising power of audio content and its role in shaping public discourse and driving global conversations on humanitarian, economic, and leadership themes in the age of digital transformation.

HE the GCO Director met with TikTok's President of Global Business, Will Liu to discuss strategic partnership opportunities and their role in supporting digital innovation, empowering national talent, and building a comprehensive creative content ecosystem.

HE the GCO Director met with President and CEO of The New York Times (NYT) Meredith Kopit Levien and Global Chief Advertising Officer of NYT Joy Robins. Discussions centered on the future of journalism, the role of technology in transforming media business models, and key challenges and opportunities in the age of digital transformation.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani further met with Derya Matras, VP at Meta for Europe, the Middle East and Africa; Jamie Salter, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Authentic Brands Group; and Winston Cheng, CFO of Lenovo.
