Doha, Qatar: Administrative and teaching staff at Qatar’s government schools returned to work today as preparations got underway for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education said school staff will work to complete academic, administrative and organisational preparations and ensure that schools are fully ready to receive students.
Students in all government schools are scheduled to return on Sunday, August 30, 2026, marking the start of the new academic year.
Meanwhile, second-round examinations for the 2025-2026 academic year will begin today and will continue until Thursday, August 27. The examinations cover students across different grades and educational stages, according to schedules approved by the ministry.
The ministry urged students taking the second-round examinations and their parents to follow schools’ instructions and adhere to the approved examination schedules and arrangements. Examination timetables are available through the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s website. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to completing all necessary preparations during this period to ensure the smooth conduct of the second-round examinations.
