Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met yesterday with Vice-President of the European Commission for Promoting our European Way of Life H E Margaritis Schinas who is currently visiting the country to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony.
They discussed cooperation between Qatar and the European Union, especially in the area of fostering the partnership in security, social and cultural sectors and the latest preparations to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The meeting addressed the efforts of Qatar in the field of overhauling the labour laws and the legislations enacted by Qatar to safeguard the rights of labourers.
The Vice-President of the European Commission lauded the preparations made by the State of Qatar to make the major global football event a success.
