Doha, Qatar: The Turkish Embassy in Qatar have started receiving votes casted by Turkish residents in the country as the voting for presidential election run-off begins in embassies and consulates around the world.
In a statement, the Turkish Embassy in Doha stated that eligible voters may head to the consulate to cast their vote until tomorrow, May 22, from 8am until 10pm.
Turkish media, in a report, recently quoted the Supreme Electoral Board stating that eligible voters abroad have reached 3,423,759, and people born before May 29, 2005 (who reached the age of 18 after the first round) will be able to vote in the second round.
Overseas voters in many countries went to the polling station to cast their vote, as media also reported that a total of 12 ballot boxes were placed at the arrival and departure points of Istanbul Airport, Turkiye's largest border gate.
After the voting process, the votes will be brought to Turkiye by diplomatic couriers, under strict security measures, in the ways determined by the Supreme Electoral Board.
