DOHA: Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi on Sunday visited the Al Corniche area to see the pilot project for underground containers as it plans to execute the scheme at a broader level.
The underground containers project is considered part of the modern cleaning system. The ministry has chosen the “proper place” to measure the efficacy and usefulness of the new system.
The project is environment friendly and the containers will occupy lesser space in a street as only a small lid opens on the top. Hence the remaining area could be utilised for other purposes. It will also help in getting rid of foul smell that sometimes emanates from garbage containers.
