An outstanding student being honoured.
DOHA: Qatar Charity (QC) organised an educational camp and a recreational trip for orphans under its sponsorship in Burkina Faso. QC also honoured the outstanding orphan students for the year 2016.
Qatar Charity has organised the camp in Burkina Faso to build and strengthen the educational and moral aspects of the orphans under its sponsorship, said Director of Operations Management at the Executive Department of Operations at Qatar Charity, Khalid Al Yafei.
This would help achieve the humanitarian and development goals of orphans’ sponsorship project implemented by Qatar Charity in Burkina Faso. Al Yafei thanked the people of Qatar for supporting the orphans. The second educational camp was held under the theme “Together Towards a Better Tomorrow” which lasted for 7 days in Bobo-Dioulasso and was attended by 250 orphans.
The camp aimed at consolidating the spirit of fraternity among orphans, and training them on practical life by cultivating sound concepts and values, providing educational lectures, holding dhikr and Quran sessions, holding cultural competitions and carrying out sport activities, which brought joy and happiness to the orphans.
The Social Welfare Department organised a recreational trip to Validiko region in Hui state, which is located in the west of Burkina Faso, for the orphans who are sponsored by QC under the slogan “Entertaining an Orphan is A Religious and Social Duty”.
