DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in collaboration with Samsung Electronics Company yesterday announced a halt in the sales of the Galaxy Note 7 in Qatar.

The ministry has also stopped all replacements of Galaxy Note 7 devices with the newly released ones after it was confirmed that the manufacturer failed to resolve a defect in the battery.  It has urged all customers who purchased either the original device or the replaced ones to shut it down and stop using it and communicate with the commercial agent and suppliers for the refund of its price.

Samsung has officially announced a comprehensive recall campaign in all the countries. Galaxy Note 7 owners can either exchange their Galaxy Note 7 for a Galaxy S7 Edge with a refund of the price difference (in the form of cash or Samsung products) or obtain a full refund of the device price which is QR 2,999.
