Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), represented by the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department, organised a symposium yesterday entitled “Improving Air Quality and Supporting Environmental Sustainability in Qatar,” bringing together government officials, industry representatives, researchers, and environmental experts.
The event was attended by Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie and featured broad participation from governmental, private, research and academic institutions specialising in air quality and environmental monitoring.
The symposium reviewed national efforts to monitor and enhance air quality, highlighted the latest technologies and best practices in environmental monitoring, and strengthened cooperation and knowledge exchange among stakeholders. The initiative aligns with the Ministry’s strategy to advance environmental sustainability in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Undersecretary of the Ministry Eng. Abdulaziz bin Ahmad Al Mahmoud affirmed that air quality remains a national priority due to its direct impact on public health and quality of life.
He noted that the Ministry continues to develop and modernize its environmental monitoring systems using advanced technologies and internationally recognized standards, within a comprehensive legal framework that promotes transparency and sound environmental governance.
