Lusail University’s College of Law holds first female students’ forum

Doha, Qatar: The College of Law at Lusail University held its First Female Students’ Forum, organized by the Legal Clinic and the Moot Court, on November, with the attendance of a number of students and faculty members.

The forum featured a display of panels presented by the students, showcasing the initiatives and contributions of civil society organizations in Qatar, with the participation of twelve entities, including: the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, Qatar Charity, Dreama (Qatar Orphans Care Center), the Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Deaf, Eid Charity, Ehsan (Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care), the Qatar Red Crescent Society, the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs, the Qatar Zakat Fund, the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, Education Above All, the Qatar Foundation for the Protection of Children and Women, and the Cultural Centre for Motherhood and Childhood.

The forum also included a presentation on the Qatari national judiciary, including the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Courts, highlighting key rulings issued in accordance with international standards and treaties ratified by the State of Qatar, in line with Articles (6) and (68) of the Qatari Constitution.

During the event, a number of volunteer lawyers were honoured for their collaboration with the Legal Clinic in providing legal consultations and support to vulnerable groups within Qatari society.

On this occasion, Dr. Ali Al Kubaissy, Dean of the College of Law at Lusail University, emphasized that the forum reflects the college’s commitment to enhancing practical legal education and developing students’ applied legal skills. He added that through such initiatives, the college aims to prepare a new generation of promising legal professionals capable of competing in the labour market and contributing effectively to the delivery of diverse legal services in Qatar.
