DOHA: The Zakat Affairs Department of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced the distribution of QR18,829,696 in financial aid during September 2025, benefiting 812 eligible families across Qatar.
Marwa Ahmed Al-Benali, Head of the Collection and Zakat Accounts Section, stressed the department’s commitment to delivering Zakat funds to their rightful recipients with transparency, adhering strictly to Shariah guidelines and established regulations. She highlighted that this diligent process provides assurance to Zakat payers while simultaneously offering vital support and comfort to families in need.
The total aid was divided into two critical streams: Monthly Periodic Aid: Amounted to QR10,766,050. This assistance is designed to cover essential living costs, including housing, sustenance, and food. Lump-sum Aid: Amounted to QR 8,063,646.
This support addresses exceptional and urgent situations, such as covering patient medical treatment, settling tuition fees, and assisting individuals burdened by debt. Al-Benali stressed that every application is subject to meticulous review to confirm eligibility. She noted that applying for aid is made easy via the department’s official website, www.zakat.gov.qa, where applicants are encouraged to upload all necessary documents to speed up the processing.
In closing, the department urged both individuals and companies to perform their Zakat obligation through multiple accessible channels it offers. These include utilising the smartphone application, the official website, various collection points, the Express Collection Service (55199990 and 55199996), and direct bank transfers.
