Doha: Al-Futtaim’s Doha Marketing Services Company WLL (Domasco), the distributor for Honda in Qatar, took members of the Media on a 2017 Honda Accord road expedition to the Simaisma Resort, and The Peninsula got to experience the new vehicle in all its glory. The expedition comes on the heels of the official launch of the all-new 2017 Honda Accord that took place recently.
The Accord received a facelift which does a fantastic job of making it much more aesthetically pleasing. The updated front fascia is now dressed up with even more chrome inserts, as well as a new pair of LED daytime running lights, and is equipped with a set of very attractive 19-inch wheels. Out back, there’s added chrome over the taillights which have also been given a revised LED design. LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), integrated LED Light Bar Tail Lights are standard in all grades, and V6 grades have redesigned LED headlights providing better light distribution for improved visibility and enhanced night time driving.
LED Front Fog Lights in 2.4EX and upwards, project a wide low beam for enhanced forward visibility in dust storms or during heavy fog. Available as either a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan, the Accord continues to offer four- and six-cylinder engine choices. Measuring 2.4 litres, the standard 185-hp four-cylinder engine is available with a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). A 278-hp 3.5-litre V-6 is available on the Accord EX-L and standard on the top-of-the-line Touring.

The other Honda active-safety features are Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control Systems (TCS), Anti-Lock Brake Systems (ABS), Electronic Brake Distributor (EBD) and Hill Start Assist (HSA). In addition, the new Accord utilises Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure technology to enhance occupant protection and crash compatibility. Rear Parking Sensors, a new feature in the Accord, are standard in all grades.
In concluson, the 2017 Honda Accord is a sedate and mature midsize family sedan that feels sportier, nimbler, lighter on its feet, and safer than its predecessors.
