New York: Qatar’s Attorney-General H E Dr. Ali bin Fetais Al Marri, who is also the UN Special Advocate on Stolen Asset Recovery, yesterday met the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, was also present.
The meeting reviewed activities related to the global fight against corruption, recovery of stolen funds and plans for the future.
Ban praised Dr. Al-Marri’s efforts in urging states to implement the UN Convention on the fight against corruption and for the support of the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre to developing countries, in cooperation with the UN, reports QNA.
