Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation’s National Centre for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) has announced a significant milestone in its continuous pursuit of excellence. Building on its successful ACGME-I accreditation in 2016, the centre has now been officially recognised as a Training Centre for the Arab Board in Medical Oncology for the first time.

This achievement reinforces NCCCR’s leadership in cancer care, education, and professional development, and highlights its commitment to preparing future generations of oncology specialists across the region.

The Arab Board of Health Specialisations (ABHS) has granted official accreditation to Qatar and NCCCR as a recognised training centre for the Medical Oncology Fellowship Programme.

This distinguished accreditation reflects NCCCR’s dedication to excellence in cancer education, clinical training, and professional advancement.

It underscores the centre’s advanced infrastructure, highly qualified faculty, and its prominent role in delivering evidence-based, high-quality oncology care in Qatar and the wider region.

Through this recognition, NCCCR further strengthens its position as a regional leader in oncology training, enabling physicians from Qatar and across the Arab world to pursue specialized medical oncology education that meets international standards.

This milestone supports the nation’s vision to elevate cancer services, enhance clinical competencies, and develop a highly skilled oncology workforce.

NCCCR extends its appreciation to all teams whose efforts contributed to achieving this major accomplishment—one that reaffirms Qatar’s growing leadership in cancer care, medical education, and fellowship training across the region.
