Doha, Qatar: Qatar continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing the medical and holistic healthcare needs of the elderly and will be host the 3rd Qatar International Geriatrics and Dementia Conference in October.
It will be hosted by Hamad Medical Corporation’s Department of Geriatrics and Long-term care under the aegis of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Aging and Dementia.
As the world struggles with the growing complexities of elderly healthcare, Qatar stands at the forefront, leading the charge to find comprehensive and holistic solutions.
Under the theme “Achieving Global Excellence in Geriatric and Dementia Care,” the conference will serve as a platform to showcase Qatar’s remarkable achievements while fostering global collaboration in the pursuit of an age-friendly world.
Building on the successes of the previous conferences, this year’s event seeks to unite international stakeholders to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices, envisioning a future where the elderly and those affected by dementia receive the highest standard of care possible.
“We are pleased to host this remarkable event for the third time, which focuses on achieving global excellence in geriatric and dementia care through innovation, empowerment, and resilience,” Chairperson of Geriatrics and Long-Term Care Department, Head of WHO Collaborating Centre for Healthy Ageing and Dementia, Dr. Hanadi Khamis Al Hamad says in a welcome message.
“The WHO Collaborating Center initiative is designed to bring benefits to both parties, including more visibility of key projects and programs, enabling improved opportunities to exchange information and develop technical cooperation with other international institutions as well as facilitate better access to funding for research and program development,” she added.
The 3 day conference will take place from the October 26 to 28 and welcome distinguished experts from the European Geriatric Medicine Society, the WHO, and renowned speakers from the United Kingdom, the United States, as well as regional and local experts. The esteemed speakers bring with them a wealth of expertise and research findings in the field. Their contributions will shed light on emerging trends, cutting-edge therapies, and best practices that will drive us closer to deliver high quality of geriatric and dementia care.
