Doha: Inspectors from the  Ministry of Economy and Commerce registered 11 violations as part the ongoing Ramadan inspection campaign to crack down on violations.
During raids, inspectors found four bakeries had failed to meet the specifications related to the weight of bread and comply with the health requirements. The inspectors also caught five food supply distribution centres (Tamween Centers) which failed to provide consumers with required quantities of food supplies. Two Tamween centres were caught selling food using IDs of some nationals. Legal action will be taken against the manager of the Tamween centre and the owners of the Qatari IDs, according to a statement issued by the Ministry. The campaign targeted bakeries, food outlets, stores and food supply centres to ensure that establishments are complying with the law and health requirements.
