Doha: The Ministry of Culture is participating in the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which started on Wednesday under the theme “Between You and a Book”, and will run until Nov. 16, 2025.

The event gathers a lot of participants from Arab and global publishing houses, as well as cultural institutions.

The ministry’s participation is an extension of the State of Qatar’s effective presence in foremost cultural fairs and forums both on the regional and global stages, as part of the ministry’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange and openness to a variety of literary and thoughtful experiences, something that would literally contribute to forging communication among innovators and publishers who are interested in cultural affairs.

Qatar’s participation in SIBF represents an opportunity to highlight the nation’s cultural production through showcasing the key modern releases of the ministry, in addition to broadening collaboration horizons with Arab and global cultural institutions, said Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair, Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain.

Al Buainain added that the ministry’s booth showcases a wide range of thoughtful, literary, and scientific releases that manifest the diverse cultural scene in Qatar.

He pointed out that SIBF is a global platform for cultural and humanitarian engagement that primarily contributes to moving forward the publishing and authorship movement and boosting the predilections of various age groups to read.

Overall, SIBF pays tribute to Greece as a guest of honor, with the participation of 10 countries for the first time.
