He started his career at Qatar Petroleum. He hold the posts of Director, Office of the Chairman of the Administrative Transparency and Control Authority, Director of Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qafco, Amwaj Catering Services, Executive Committee of Qatar Petroleum Clubs, Master Plan Committee of Qatar Petroleum Complex Project and Al Freej Real Estate Company. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club. Al Malki holds a BA in Business and Economics from Saint Martens College in the US.
