135.284 tonnes of agricultural cargo destroyed over violations

DOHA: The Agriculture Quarantine Office at the Ministry of Environment last month inspected 5,845 shipment weighing 92995.76 tonnes at different outlets in the country.
About 198 shipment weighing 135.284 tonnes were destroyed for violating the agriculture quarantine law. Agriculture quarantine is the first line of defence to protect plants from agriculture pests. It is a precautionary measure to protect plants and agriculture products. Meanwhile, Al Rayan Municipality removed 202 truckloads of waste in Rawdat Qdeem.
