Al Bayan Preparatory School for Girls.
Al Bayan Preparatory School for Girls has become a member of Unesco Associated Schools Network (ASPnet).
Al Bayan Preparatory School recently got the membership of ASPnet after meeting seventeen conditions. Many other schools of Qatar have joined the Network after meeting internationally conditions.
The Unesco Associated Schools Network (ASPnet) currently has around 10,000 members in over 180 countries. Membership is open to public or private educational institutions which provide pre-primary, primary, secondary, technical or vocational education, or teacher training, in formal or non-formal settings, according to information available on ASPnet website.
Membership is based on a firm commitment by the school leadership and community to promote the ideals and values of Unesco by reinforcing the humanistic, ethical, cultural and international dimensions of education.
Member schools are a key promoter of Unesco values and the integration of international perspectives into schools. They volunteer to contribute to the development of innovative educational content, to pioneer new teaching methods and learning approaches, to interact and collaborate with other ASPnet members and to build partnerships with different stakeholders to improve their practices and become agents of change in their communities.
All members undertake multidisciplinary projects related to peace and human rights, sustainable development, global citizenship and intercultural learning.
On this occasion, Asma Al-Kubaisi, Principal at Al Bayan, said: “Although Qatar is passing through siege but Qatar is going to improve its educational system which makes the State of Qatar meet international classification in educational sector.”
She termed the membership as a “big achievement” of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and administration of Al Bayan Preparatory School for Girls, said a statement issued by the school.
She said that Al Bayan Preparatory School gives importance to educational standards in cooperation with the Ministry to achieve educational vision and goals of the State of Qatar.
Al-Kubaisi said: “Our great leaders have provided ultimate support for education to raise educational system standards in the State of Qatar.” She noted that this achievement comes within the framework to raise the quality of education. This membership will also create a great opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge on various cultures by interacting with other educational institutions part of ASPnet.
The Principal said that although Qatar was going through difficult days due to siege imposed by brotherly countries but “Qatar institutions have proved to the world that Qatar is moving ahead according to its vision to raise improvements, and developing all national sectors.”
She said that Qatar National Vision 2030 is the most important mean to human development, and to prepare a generation having the ability to change future to the better.
Earlier, during the visit of a British delegation to Al Bayan School, Al-Kubaisi said: “The Unesco puts seventeen conditions on school before giving them membership. The most important one among them is good education system which the organization found at our school.”
She told the delegation that the school is providing programs in different educational disciplines which give the students ability to improve their educational, communication skills.
