Beijing: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted the waters off the coast of Taitung County in Taiwan on Monday morning.
The China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said that the epicenter was monitored at 22.8 degrees north latitude and 121.7degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 km, according to China's (XINHUA) News Agency.
There were no reports of any damage caused by the quake.
