Manila: The death toll from the collapse of a building under construction in Angeles City, Pampanga province, northern Philippines, rose to 20 after rescuers recovered three more bodies from the rubble, said local authorities Tuesday.

The local fire protection bureau said 20 were confirmed dead, 27 were rescued, and no more persons were reported missing in the incident. It said operations continue as rescuers carefully clear debris and expand access within the collapse site.

The structure collapsed at around 3am on May 24 while construction workers were asleep, and dozens were trapped beneath the debris.
